APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY (MACHINIST/ ELECTRICIAN/MILLWRIGHT)
Linamar Corporation from Guelph, ON are in the market to hire apprentices in the above trades. You can read more about the company at www.linamar.com. Essentially they are a manufacturing company that manufactures highly engineered products powering vehicles. This year they will be hiring 28 high school graduates! The criteria... initiative, reliability and desire to learn.
There is an interview component at the end of March/ beginning of April and an aptitude test that needs to be completed.
If you are a successful applicant, you would start on a negotiated date between July and September. For approximately one year you would work along side someone training you for the job, then you would be registered as an apprentice and enrolled in Conestoga College (attending one day per week).
11 of 28 spots are reserved for women entering the trades as well!

Do you have to complete testing as a requirement for
admission to your college/university program of choice?
If so, you will need
to book your test date through the college/university’s Test Center, travel to
the institution and complete the test. While you are there, take a tour of your
potential new school/home and arrange to sit in on some classes!

Check with the
college/university to see if they will allow you to complete the written or
on-line test while being supervised by staff at the Employment Options
(705-672-5244) office of Northern College!
